Remember when you were kid..Mom had to push you to eat the outer layer of our bread or what Indo people call as 'kulit roti' (skin of the bread). And for some other kids even more ekstreme. They wouldnt like also if mommy gave bread for the breakfast. Even thought it is prepared very well and nice. Yes of course not every kid are like that. Maybe some of or many likes Bread so much. But I'm more talking about kids in Indonesia or Asia. As far as I know, as my own experience as a kid and as teacher assistant for elementary school, most of the time it will take a long time for kid to finish the lunch or the snack bar if it's a Bread. And for me even till now. Till I'm an adult. :D (That's actually pitty, because Dutch people are one of the country who eats Bread more than anything). Anyway the situation is totally different if the one which fills the lunch box is noodle or nugget or Pizza. Pizza. Ah.. it is an interesting subject. Ok, then. Now we will talk pretty much about Pizza. PIZZA? Why Pizza? Why not Noodle? You also mentioned about Noodle toch? And even Nugget! So why dont just discuss about Noodle or Nugget? Yes... Okay- okay. I will explain. It is actually simple. Because Pizza, is actually same with Bread. It is made from the same ingredients. Flour and yeast. And same also be baked. But still, the fans of Pizza are always much more than Bread. At least in Indonesia and in another Asian country. And when you asked baby till adult: Do you want Bread or Pizza? Then the answer gonna be : PIZZA generally. That is for sure.
Because on the top of pizza, we can put almost, yes ALMOST everything that we like. Salami, cheese, mushroom, tomato, paprika, and so on, and so on. So that is why Pizza is more favourite then bread, coz it is F.U.N , and become favourite almost everyone (except my Opa). And now I just found that make pizza is not as difficult as I thought before. Is easy, simple and even as fun as when we eat it...
I will show you my fave easy recipe to make pizza.
Tools that are needed:
- 1 timer (can be from your mobilephone)
- 1 oven (use the up
- 1 big bowl (for mix the dough)
- 1 big bowl with deep volume (for let the dough rises)
- 1 measuring cup (for the water)
- 1 food scale (to make sure not too much flour)
- 1 rolling pin to make the dough becomes flat as you want
- 1 pizza tray to serve the pizza and place that you can cut the pizza
- 1 pizza roller to cut the pizza
- 1 teaspoon
- 1 place with pretty big smooth surface for make the dough become elastic
- 1 applicator/ brush special for cooking to smear the oil into the bowl/ pizza pan/ pizza crust
- 1 fork
- 1 roll of plastic wrap
- 1 knife to cut the excess of the dough (I always use the plastic knife)
- Pizza pans as many as you need it
- Clean and sanitized lap or rug to clean your hand always after busy with the dough
- A washed and clean hands of yourself :P
Ingredients for 600 gram pizza dough:
- 400 gr all purpose flour
- 11 gr instant yeast
- 2 teaspoon of normal sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 250 warm water (not too hot or too cold)
- 3 teaspoon of olive oil
- 1 cup of olive oil for spread
- 1 bowl of flour for make the dough not become sticky
How to make:
- Put the flour , yeast and the salt into the bowl. Mix it together. And then make a hole in it, and soak the warm water and olive oil and stir it together till it mixed well.
- Put the dough on the smooth surface that already floured so it wont be sticky.
- Use your clean hand to make the dough become elastic with keep kneading it (+/ 5 minutes).
- Put the dough in another big bowl (with deeper volume) that already smeared with olive oil, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it till the dough rises to about double its original size (+/ 45 - 60 min)
- After it has rises, dump the dough back back on to the floured surface and punch it down, getting rid of any bubbles.
- Divide the dough as what you want and let it rest a few minutes.
- Roll each into the size as the pizza pan, depending on your personal preference how thick pizza crust should be (it will puff slightly when baked).
- Preheat the oven (250 degrees of Celcius) and use the bottom heat or also can use the fan assisted button :) Or use the rack that closer with the element (so if it is has only top heat then put if it's not in the middle rack then in the top rack)
- Size the dough as match as the pan pizza and then cut it the excess with the knife. (The excess you can always use for the next pizza)
- Transfer the dough onto the oiled pan pizza.
- Use fork to make small holes on every surface to minimize the effect when it sizzles and pops because the common bubble in the pizza crust [ so your pizza will look more beautiful ;) ]
- Then put it on the oven for 10 -12 minutes till the pizza crust become a bit crispy but make sure not too much so better put your eyes on it.
- After the pizza crust becomes a bit crispy , take the pizza out (without turn off the oven), smear on it the olive oil and then the sauce, then the topping as you like, and the cheese rasp on the top.
- Put it back to the oven for 8 - 10 min, once again please: PUT your eyes on it!
- After it has goldy colour (you have to see the rim of the pizza), take it out. Recheck it! Make sure it has crispy.
- If yes, you can put the leaves or everything (lemon/ something that needed to be fresh looks) and voilá! Pizza is ready to be enjoyed!
